CareerTu’s Leaders in Tech Conference

CareerTu hosted its third annual Leaders in Tech conference in New York City. The conference included key thought-leaders in a variety of industries all coming together around the topic of “Data-Driven Growth Marketing”.

Ruiwan Xu and CareerTu

Ruiwan Xu, the conference chair and CareerTu founder, shared her journey of coming into the tech industry without a computer science degree.

A lot of people think they are absolutely necessary, but from her experience it is more important to have relevant and in-demand skills.

This and the flexibility of skills allowed her to become both a tech entrepreneur and also Marketing Manager at Audible Amazon.

It was the ease with which she changed careers which led her to create CareerTu, a startup whose mission is to teach students the most relevant and in-demand skills to make them dream hires for top companies.

In return, this provides businesses with experienced and reliable talents to increase their efficiency.

Important Voices

Ruiwan Xu, of course, didn’t carry such an important conference alone. Some other voices represented were Lance Dunbar from Google, Francis Cueto and Wang Liao from Asturias Capital, and Sarmad Saghir from Adore Me.

Along with other speakers from widely successful companies such as Back Market, TikTok and L’Oreal, the conference was jam packed with discussions on the rapidly evolving nature of technology and how businesses are adapting to remain competitive.

Conference Takeaways

As is becoming increasingly apparent, a company cannot have a presence without an internet presence attached to it.

Mobile marketing and social media are necessary to gather customer data and present consistent branding.

Marketing is becoming more personalized, with every consumer leading the way of how they want to be marketed to, so unique experiences are necessary.

Not only must the company provide a quality product, but they must also give a user an easy way to meet the product where they are.

So as a small to medium size business, you have to have a social media marketing presence. You also must be aware consumers are looking for personalized and unique experiences with your products.

Both of these things are absolutely necessary to meeting consumers where they are on the internet.
